SKOLNICK was retained by the Founder and CEO of School of Rock, a world leader in music education for children, to provide a concept design and promotional materials for his new art school franchise - One River School®. Drawing upon the aspirational vision of One River to bring quality art education experiences to suburban and underserved communities, the concept design for this informal learning environment celebrates creativity and fosters a sense of community among the students and staff.

INSPIRED BY ARTIST LOFTS
The architectural design concept translates the raw simplicity of urban artist lofts into a familiar but highly sophisticated environment. A material palette of concrete, metal, and light wood sets the backdrop for the vivid colors of the displayed artwork, furniture elements, and bold environmental graphics.
PURPOSEFULLY FLEXIBLE
The informal learning spaces provide students and teachers with maximum flexibility. Walls are lined with plywood and integrated magnetic strips that allow for a rotating display of student artwork.
Good lighting, rugged and easy to maintain furniture and fixtures, and ample storage space for supplies and artwork enable the space to change depending on projects and participants.
