THE NATIONAL LIGHTHOUSE MUSEUM
Staten Island, NY
Located on the historic site of the US Lighthouse Service’s main depot in St. George, Staten Island, the National Lighthouse Museum invites visitors to explore the history and technology of our nation’s lighthouses. Beginning in 2000, SKOLNICK developed an Interpretive Master Plan for the museum’s sprawling campus, calling for careful historic restoration and renovation of a number of buildings, site interpretation, and engaging interpretive experiences. After the opening of the inaugural exhibit in 2014, SKOLNICK was invited back to develop a new Interpretive Plan for the site in 2017.
