GLOBAL CROSSING HEADQUARTERS
New York, NY
The design of the headquarters of Global Crossing, located within an award-winning I.M. Pei office building, projects a forward-looking identity which embodies the tenets of the company: connectivity, speed, security, and cutting-edge technology. All extraneous information was stripped from the space – partitions, hung ceilings, standard lighting, and floor coverings – and only necessary elements were added back, creating a functional workspace that captured the spirit of Global Crossing.

SCULPTURAL ‘NEURONS’
The environment is animated by a metaphorical digital nervous system. Sculptural “neurons” float above workspaces and interweave through shared and public areas. These forms, lit internally by fiber optic filaments, provide continuity, fluidity, and a soft ambient glow in an otherwise dimmed environment. The result is an overlay and a pronounced juxtaposition: a twenty-first century process-oriented enterprise in a classic twentieth century corporate envelope.
